Over forty riders registered in the cozy stove heated Stash Cabin to participate in this unusual contest. The riders showed amazing skills, especially considering the difficulty of throwing technical tricks on wooden features.

At the end, Declan Power claimed the Stash Gathering men’s title taking home a Season Pass as well as Stash Limited series board and other goodies, followed by Michael De Rose in 2^nd and Antoine Aubri in third place. The women also showed some serious skills and Sarah Fish took first place which earned her a Season Pass, followed by Sabrina Burham and Diane Jouvet. All top three placed riders earned also a limited edition Stash board as well as more goodies.

The Youth category literally killed it! The kids under fifteen years old took on every feature the men did, showing stylish tricks and stomping them like pros. At the end Alex Briand claimed the top spot winning the Season Pass followed by Tim Baisamy and Raphael Villa winning a backpack filled with Anon Goggles and other cool stuff. The discovery of the day was the 10 year old Nicola Cleusix who did not make it on the podium, but deserves props for taking all obstacles with perfect style and landing everything despite of his young age. Watch out for this kid in the future!

With the weather forecast announcing stormy conditions by the late morning, the event was ran without breaks and the 6 selected finalists had one more hour to battle for the title. All of them showed great riding skills and tried their best to impress the judges and the people who followed the runs in The Stash, creating a fantastic atmosphere.

The Men’s category was dominated by Peter Walchhofer who impressed the judges with a perfect mix of flow and creative tricks, taking home a Season pass for next year, a Stash special edition board as well as a goodie pack. Robert Wallner and Patrick Schönleitner followed in 2^nd and 3^rd position, also taking home a Stash board and goodie pack each.

Christine Szumouski finished 1^st in the Women’s category and earned herself a Season pass and a Stash Special edition board, followed by Lisa Harml who also went home with a special edition board.

In the Youth category things got really tight, as Felix Harml and Willi Winter both showed great skills and technical tricks. In the end Felix managed to land on the highest step of the podium, but both kids went home with their merited prizes.

Stash Park Avoriaz, Rider: Thomas Delfino, (c)Cyril

The Stash Gathering returns to the European Stash parks in Flachauwinkl (AUT) and Avoriaz (FRA) in April 2012. Open to all amateur snowboarders, these events award riders’ flow and creativity on the unique obstacles of The Stash parks, developed upon terrain’s natural features.

Registered riders will be divided into small groups and will ride through the Stash features accompanied by three judges. Composed of Burton team riders, pro-riders andlocal heroes, the judge crew will decide who will make it to the Youth, Women’s and Men’s Finals to battle for The Stash Gathering Champion title and product prizes.

BBQ and soft drinks will be offered to all participants during lunch break, no entrance fee is needed. Registration can be done onsite for both events until 10 am on the contest day, at the Stash Cabin in Avoriaz and at the Chill House in Flachauwinkl. Spots are limited to 40 participants and will be assigned on a first come first served basis. As for all Burton events, helmets are mandatory!
